Jay made our remote home remodeling a worry-free process. He responded our calls and texts promptly. He took good care of procurement of materials, appliances, and permit/inspection. He was always candid in communicating, and had high standard of ethics. It was a pleasure working with Jay the builder.

Great quality experience from beginning to end! Jay managed the process from the very start and kept me well informed throughout the first master bath remodel and then on to a kitchen remodel! Jay had an excellent relationship with the design suppliers so it made it very easy to very patiently select exactly what we wanted and compare ideas to insure we would have the perfect finished product.

After a flood in our attic, Jay helped us navigate the insurance process and made sure we got the most possible for repairs. When the payout fell short, he still worked within our budget and delivered a beautiful, functional kitchen in just two and a half weeks. We worked with his custom cabinet guy for new boxes and they look amazing (wish we had them throughout the kitchen). The paint work was great and our hardwood floors were left spotless. Will definitely be working with Jay for future projects!

We recently used Jay the Builder for a kitchen, eating area, and laundry room remodel along with making some upgrades to our family room. The estimated completion time was in 7 weeks, but our job was finished in 5 1/2 weeks. Both Jay and his crew put a lot of time, effort, and work into the project, and in return we got a beautiful upgrade to all those rooms! What we especially liked was how hands-on Jay was throughout the entire process--going to places with us, giving us lots of recommendations for things, and regularly coming to the house to check in on how the project was going. We would definitely recommend his company if you're looking for a good contractor.:)

These people allow their workers to liter in your area. They drive recklessly often and if you are on a dirt road then just expect more disrespect. I live near an area they build in and I'm often disappointed in their atmosphere. The phone number seems like it's out of state so that's not surprising. I can't speak for their building but from what I have seen it's average for the industry and so why have such poor atmosphere? Comment and review if you too seem to be afflicted by workers and sub contractors with bad manners.

We have used Jay and his crew on 2 projects now. A master bath remodel and a front patio tile and support posts. Our experience was great on both occasions. Jay is super responsive, attentive to detail and very experienced. Very happy with the results and thier tile work is top shelf.

We recently used Jay the Builder for a few projects: gut and redo our master bathroom, remove a popcorn ceiling in the master bedroom, and refresh a half bath. It was a great experience from start to finish. Jay was professional and a pleasure to work with. He was helpful, had good ideas, and was always available to answer questions. He submitted a detailed bid and stuck to the budget and the timeline. His crew showed up on time and stayed until the work was done (and Kwame and Henry were so nice to our old dog.) And, most importantly, they did quality work. I’m happy with it all, especially the beautiful walk-in shower, but I think my favorite part may be the bathroom floor, and that’s because of Kwame’s attention to detail with the hexagonal tile (so many cuts!) Here are a few before and after pictures. We will be happy to use them again in the future. Thanks! Marc and Lorraine

Had some guys over to handle the new flooring in the hallway. They just showed up, got straight to the job, and didn't leave a mountain of dust behind when they finished. The floors look solid and the price was exactly what we talked about upfront.

Over promises and never delivers. Fortunately no money was involved but went back and forth with them on a project, promised me a date for a quote, never got it. After a week later I reached back out and once again, promised a quote in a few days, never got it. Reached back out once last time and it was the same story. If they will not even get you a quote how reliable are they to actually finish the job if you hire them. If they didn't want to do my just then they should have just told me.

I used Jay to install a new kitchen sink and gas stovetop.

Although the project got started later than I wanted, Jay was always responsive when asking for updates.

He provided guidance on which appliances to buy and measurements, even finding a model that worked for my kitchen.

He was kind and helpful throughout the whole process. And the installation (and clean up) was executed well.
